Till September 2003, there was no common platform of Virtual Assistants based in India. This made it difficult for potential clientele within India as well as in other countries to find the desired service-providers. ABOVAC has taken an initiative to bring the Indian V.A.s together under the banner of the Association of Virtual Assistants in India (AVAIndia).

AVAIndia is formed with 3 basic objectives:

1. To enhance reliability, trustworthiness and ethical behaviour among organisations and individuals practising Virtual Assistance business in India;

2. To promote the concept of outsourcing to the Virtual Assistants among business and industry in India; and

3. To interact with the Government to enhance the contribution of V.A. services to the national economy.

We propose to do so through a listserv. While this forum directly addresses the needs of V.A.s in India, we welcome V.A.s from other countries who might be interested to do business with India. The objectives of AVAIndia Discussion Group are:

i. To conduct regular interaction to address the objectives of AVAIndia mentioned above.

ii. To assist other members in resolving issues related to V.A. business.
